News: 27-year-old woman killed in west Phoenix crash

PHOENIX, AZ – Police believe dangerous speed may be to blame for a fatal collision in west Phoenix on Saturday night.

According to a report by ABC 15, the accident occurred just before 9 p.m. near the intersection of 51st Avenue and Van Buren Street.

Responding officers say a PT Cruiser collided with a four-door sedan at a high rate of speed. The unidentified female driver of the PT Cruiser was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver in the sedan, 27-year-old Dominica Cordova, was also sent to the hospital. Unfortunately, she died from her injuries sometime later on.
