News: 5-vehicle collision at 27th and Camelback kills 1

PHOENIX, AZ – One man died and another was seriously injured following a five-vehicle collision in Phoenix early Saturday morning, CBS 5 reports.

The collision occurred at about 2 a.m. when the driver of an Acura ran the red light while traveling north on 27th Avenue at Camelback Road.

The Acura then collided with an eastbound Chrysler before plowing into three additional vehicles at the intersection.

A passenger in the Acura, 45-year-old Dereck Ashe, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

It is unclear if anyone else involved dint the crash wash hurt.’
