News: Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle in south Tucson

TUCSON, AZ – A 56-year-old man was struck and killed while crossing a street on Tucson’s south side last Friday.

According to KOLD, the incident took place at about 9:30 p.m. as the man was attempting to cross in the area of South 6th Avenue and West Columbia Street.

Police believe 56-year-old Marcellus McCutchen Burks was crossing outside of the designated crosswalk when he was hit.

The vehicle involved in the fatal crash, a 1980s Ford pickup truck, fled the scene before police arrived.
