News: Pedestrian struck by SUV in northwest Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – A man was taken to the hospital following an auto vs. pedestrian collision in northwest Phoenix Wednesday night.

According to CBS 5, the accident took place at about 8 p.m. as the unidentified male pedestrian was crossing in the area of Thomas Road and 32nd Street.

Investigators say the man was attempting to cross outside of the designated crosswalk when he was hit by an oncoming SUV. He was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Police do not believe impairment was a factor in the crash. It is unclear if the driver involved will face any charges at this time.
