News: Suspect arrested in connection of fatal Phoenix hit-and-run

PHOENIX, AZ – Police have arrested the driver believed to be responsible for a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run early Saturday morning.

According to Fox 10 Phoenix, 47-year-old Barbara Brown was run over at about 2:41 p.m. while sleeping on the ground near 20th Street and Highland Avenue.

Investigators believe 23-year-old Isaac Najera Turned onto 20th St. at a high rate of speed and lost control before crossing several lanes and jumping the curb.

After hitting Brown, the vehicle careened into a pole. Najera attempted to flee on foot but was located and arrested sometime later. He is facing charges of manslaughter and leaving the scene of a crash.
