News: Tractor-trailer fire blocks all lanes on I-17 near Black Canyon City
BLACK CANYON CITY, AZ – Traffic was halted for nearly an hour while crews worked to extinguish a tractor-trailer fire on I-17 Thursday afternoon.
According to a tweet by Arizona DoT, the fire was reported at about 1:13 p.m. within the northbound lanes of the interstate, just past Black Canyon City.
The cause of the fire is unclear at this time. However, traffic was backed up for over four miles before a single lane could be opened.
Traffic is still moving slowly in the area and motorists are advised to proceed with caution.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
